Erm. Any idea how public transport works to get there? Judging from google maps, looks like a real pain to get to - no nearby train stations or anything.

citycat would probably be your best bet, get to queen st mall and onto the river from there! having it finally in brisbane in a bad location to get to isn't going to help numbers!

I've read a fair few complaints about the venue's accessibility already. I looked at the Citycat timetable and the ferries only take around 20mins to get there from the CBD, plus they run frequently every day. It's not inaccessible at all.

the problem with brissy transport is that you can't get from one side of the city to the other on the same mode of transport without it costing an arm and a leg, and the trains don't extend all the way out say redcliffe way!

Cheers guys - I think the problem is non-locals wouldn't necessarily equate public transport with ferry XD. I'll let people know

I'm happy that Brisbane finally get them.
Hope everyone has fun; I most certainly won't be there.

Hey hey hey, enough of the negativity.

The public transport (or lack of it) as some people are discussing is not the fault of anyone here. The location is fine, Qld get the chance to show us that they can hold an awesome nationals. Just because you are catching a ferry there is not the end of the world. Clearly you have not lived or been to Sydney where ferries are insanely popular and a good way to get around.

I kinda think it's exciting to catch a ferry there. Will make me think of Ash Ketchum going to some crazy gym or the opening sequence in one of the movies.

    Pity i can't take a Lapras there
